Happy Easter!

The eggs have all been accounted for. Ryli has rifled all the way through her Easter basket, while Landry pretty much lost all interest in his once he saw his T-Rex.. He wasn't "in" the basket, being that he was too stinking big. Landry has been no more than a few inches from T-Rex. Ryli has been playing LPS at my other desk. It's been a pretty chill morning. The kids have been up since around 6:30. The Easter Bunny almost got busted. Figures the one time my alarm goes off that it wakes up a kid is when I'm playing Easter Bunny.

They went off happily to Memaw and Pepaw's, with minimal whining about missing the egg hunt that the complex was throwing on "our" playground. The rain helped on that one; I just told them it had been cancelled. Turns out, they still had it, but they had at least ten huge storage tubs of filled eggs, and not nearly enough of a turn out. So I asked if I could get a bag for Ryli and Landry since they were with their father. The kids now each have a bag full of plastic eggs when they get home.

Tag has been sleeping off and on all day. He did wake up while I was vacuuming. He bit my sweats and tried to pull me as I vacuumed. I got some dog food from my neighbor. Still no hits on the Craigslist ad. I must admit, I hope no one misses him. I suspect that no one will. The kids slept in my bed last night, along with Tag, who alternately cuddled with both of them all through the night. Ryli named him Tag, but Landry has given him another name that I can't quite pronounce.

I am going to spend the last of my reprieve from the kids cleaning my desk (yawn), assembling my control journals, and making chore charts for the week. I'm pretty certain that the kids will be ready for bed within an hour of getting back home. They are rarely up before 8:00 when they're healthy. After they go down, I'll curl up in my bed and watch "Wolf Hall" on PBS, then read some Bring Up the Bodies to try and get it done prior to that half of the miniseries!

Here we go again with Fly Lady

Due in part to a couple of awesome ladies I know, a mass purge was done of the townhouse a few weeks back. X didn't really like to throw much of anything away, even broken toys of the kids and outgrown clothes. I had clothes in my closet that I hadn't worn since before Ryli was born, and shoes that I can't/won't wear. It's all done now, and that leaves me with the upkeep.

The first time I ever heard of Fly Lady, it sounded good, but I always got side-tracked, or I'd plan to start it and I'd forget. A thousand and one excuses, and as many failures. My biggest excuse is no longer in the picture, though, so here we go again.

I'm going out to do my errand running later today. I'm going to buy a brand new three-ring binder to stow my Home Control Journal. I also have to get all the cleaning supplies I'm short on and paper goods and all that other fun stuff. And groceries, too, because these kids of mine can eat.

I've already started my Control Journal. I have pens that are perfect for the task. They write very well, and they erase. I'm talking just as good as pencil and eraser. I tend to be a little bit of a perfectionist, as well as a hoarder connoisseur  of pens. Pilot FriXon... I love them. I now have two packs of them, and I'm starting to whittle down my collection. Despite my love of allthings tech, I still keep a pen and paper planner, and these are wonderful. Everything is color coded, and there are no scribbles in the planner (unless Landry somehow got ahold ofit). I digress, let me get back to the topic at hand.

I have my handy dandy Cozi app on my phone and my tablet, which will show the correct Fly Lady zone as well as my "mission" every day, so I don't need to hop on the computer to have a clue as to just what I need to do. I'll get the kids in on it, too. I am not the only one who lives here, and I'm tired of being the only one to clean. That will probably be fodder for many a post. Ryli has a penchant for the dramatic, and her explanations for why she can't do things will surely be epic. Landry will be a stubborn little mule, but where do you think he got all that stubborn from? They even have Fly Baby things that are geared towards children.

I am excited about restarting the whole thing. No more living in CHAOS (can't have anyone over syndrome), and the kids are happier as well. Here's to bigger, better things! And we'll start it all off with Zone 1: Front Porch, Entrance & Dining Room. In our case, it's more like the designated dining area, but it works for us!

And so it begins anew...

Since April 2011, I tried and failed at blogging. I was a mom to a 13 month old who lived with my boyfriend, three kids who lived back in Iowa, and I was due in June. Add to that that the relationship I was in had some serious issues, most notably his abusive nature. My self-esteem took a serious down turn from which I am finally rebounding. I still wanted to blog, but alas, he knows the name of that blog, as well as the web address, so I've never really felt comfortable posting there again, even though the relationship is no more.

Instead of just picking up that dead horse of another blog, I will move on and start this from scratch. I'll still talk of being a stay at home mom with a "disability". I'll talk about the kids and all of their seemingly endless shenanigans. I will probably do reviews as well, because I like my subscription boxes, I am not going to lie. Hell, if I ever start to date again, you'll hear about it.

My name is Lisa, and I am currently in my final months of being a 30-something. When I was 19, I had a stroke and lost pretty much any and all use of my right arm. I suppose it was a fair trade, however, because I wasn't supposed to be able to talk again, and I can do that as if nothing happened. I didn't find out why I had the stroke until almost 10 years later when I developed a pulmonary embolism. I am heterozygous for Factor 5 Leiden. Somehow, I had three healthy kids by that point, and two miscarriages. My last two pregnancies I had to take daily shots of blood thinner. I am a bit of a nerd/geek, whether the topic be sci-fi or Tudor England, and I am totally in love with A Song of Ice and Fire, more commonly known as Game of Thrones. I am a homebody. We don't have a vehicle at the moment, but live right on the bus line, and Ryli and Landry think the bus is a lot of fun so far.
